The first generation of private cloud implementations were, by and large, a half-step. While new applications are now mostly built on top of scale-out databases, and containerized microservices are becoming the norm for stateless applications, outside of the large public CSPs, true dynamically orchestrated, self-service computing remains rare. Many talk a good game, but don’t really deliver.
What's holding up the show, and how do we get it moving again?
This talk will focus on the main technical hurdles to be overcome, and the key events and technologies that will usher in the cloud 2.0 era. And, we’ll detail the sources of some jaw-dropping financial rewards that await those who “go the distance” to running a true cloud infrastructure. Along the way we’ll provide fearless prognostications about some popular technologies that may have outlived their usefulness.
