The demand for high bandwidth is reaching new heights, fueled by emerging 5G networks, video surveillance, video streaming, machine learning and artificial intelligence. This demand is causing a massive infrastructure upgrade across hyperscale and private data centers, campus and enterprise networks, and mobile and fixed infrastructure. It is also driving new architectures such as composable or kinetic infrastructure, edge data centers and disaggregated storage. In this session, we will discuss the high-performance ethernet switching requirements for the new architectures in next-generation enterprise and edge data centers. We will share how these requirements are driving advanced features to help bring reduced power, latency and cost to data center infrastructure, and how the implementation of these new ethernet switching devices can bring a new level of optimization across different use cases.
