Data centers consume more than 2 percent of the world’s electricity. Global power consumption is expected to triple in the next five years. While these statistics are alarming, the demands for hyperscale platforms requiring performant workloads and lower power cost savings will continue to rise. These requirements are dependent on the shift within the industry since the start of OCP to require open infrastructure and open standard software to drive these platforms, while also delivering energy efficiency.
