This session will go over hardware, software, network architecture, and operational characteristics associated with a new Facebook network fabric design, and Facebook's new fabric switch: Minipack. It include insights on implementation and migration (green and brownfield), and updates on how Facebook our industry's future challenges scaling to larger, higher bandwidth networks, and with network heterogeneity. MiniPack is Facebook's 2nd generation fabric switch, designed for new topologies and emerging challenges in high bandwidth networking.  It features lower power, fewer switching elements, and a modular arcitecture that supports multiple port interface types, as well as design in-mind for more tightly integrated optical interfaces, in the future.
