Direct Contact Liquid Cooling uses the exceptional thermal conductivity of liquid to provide dense cooling to targeted areas. By integrating DCLC, dependence on fans and expensive air handling systems is drastically reduced. This enables higher rack density, overall reduced power use and peak performance potential. In this engineering workshop, CoolIT Systems will quantify the benefits of DCLC by presenting test data from a Project Olympus server. An analysis of the heat captured in liquid, maximum case temperature, and power consumption is presented at different liquid temperature (ASHRAE W1, W2, W3, W4).
